Crowns FAQs

How can I improve the appearance of my front tooth crown?

Q.

I have a crown on my front tooth which has been there for years and it is really ugly!

It has a black line around it where it meets my gum. Why is this?

A.

First of all, you don’t have to put up with an unattractive crown anymore!

Our dentists can advise you on a wide range of highly aesthetic crown options that can really enhance your smile.

The reason that you have a black line around your crown is most likely due to your gum receding over the years and exposing the margin of the crown where the underlying grey metal is shining through to give the black appearance.

Alternatively you may have a discoloured root or some tooth decay affecting the root beneath the crown.
